Women Saving the World

About the Event
Women are often on the front lines in the battle against climate change, and are often hit hardest by environmental issues – especially in developing countries. According to the United Nations' estimates, 80% of people displaced by climate change are women. As primary providers of food and fuel, they are most likely to notice the signs of climate change and to be the first to feel its effects. Because of that, they are usually the first to take action.
In the last few decades, the percentage of women taking on environmental leadership positions has increased. This Earth Day, we celebrate the achievements made by female environmental thought leaders from all around the globe.
